Gultics Alliance

The first icon I know I made is something called cha.ico, dated August 19, 2000. At that point, I was still pretending that my hand-me-down 60 MHz Pentium running Windows 95 was something to be excited about, and that it had a fictional operating system called "GULTIX."1 At some point after that, in 2002, I had a machine with piddly old NT 4 on it, and I was faced with the shocking situation that my hideous 24-bit atrocities, based on mutilated Windows XP icons, wouldn't work on it; NT 4 only supports 8-bit icons. So out came this—the Gultics Alliance (Alliance == NT) set.

Footnotes

1 I was, like, twelve. You know how it is. Lots of unenlightened people still think 'Multics' is spelled with an 'x'!
